The Bear Uniform


Note: 

Wolf and Bear uniforms are the same except for the hat, neckerchief, and slide (see inset to the right).


Required:
  • Class A (blue) Shirt (Long or Short Sleeve)
  • Neckerchief
  • Slide
  • Class B (Pack T-Shirt)

    The Class A shirt will last through third Grade - so size it appropriately.

Optional:
  • Pants or Shorts
  • Belt
  • Cap

Each Year:
  • New Hat
  • New Neckerchief
  • New Slide

The Uniform Code:

Your son should/will be encouraged to wear his uniform appropriately.  The shirt should always be tucked in and orderly. He should understand the importance of representing the entire Boy Scout Organization while in uniform.   

Patch Placement

The image to the right will help with the placement of emblems and patches.


Patches You'll need to Buy:
  • Scout Emblem (above left pocket)
  • Council Patch
  • Pack Numbers* (see Below)
  • Den Number   

Patches You don't need to Buy:

Any Rank Advancement Badge, Patches, Belt Loops, or Pins that your boy earns throughout the year will be awarded (at no cost) during the Monthly Pack Meetings.   

**EFFECTIVE June 2015--The Cub Scout Program will no longer use the "Progress Toward Ranks" and beads as part of advancement recognition.  Instead, Adventure Loops will be earned and worn on the uniform belt to signify advancement through the ranks.  Arrow points will also no longer be used to show elective completion, as these will also be represented by the Adventure Loops.

The Pack does occasionally special order the red Pack number patch (a one-piece patch with all three digits) so you don't have to sew three number patches separately.  Check with the Cubmaster or your Den Leader for availability.
